The Fire Brigades Union is an independent Trade Union who work for uniformed personnel within the Fire Service.

Who do we represent?


The FBU represent:

  • Wholetime Firefighters
  • Firefighters working the Retained Duty System
  • Officers
  • Emergency Fire Control Staff
Overall we represent over 85% of the uniformed staff of the UK fire service. Our members are frontline public service workers - covering the roles of Firefighter to Area Manager, including emergency fire control staff and firefighters working the retained duty system.

How Do I Join the FBU?


Click here print off the membership form. A deduction at source form, for membership subcriptions, can be requested from your membership secretary. The email contact for your Membership Secretary can be found on the Brigade pages of this website. Fill in both forms and send it to your Brigade Membership Secretary.
