Sign Our Petition: Stop Dangerous Cuts to Gloucestershire Fire Service!

Gloucestershire County Council is considering plans to cut frontline fire cover. They want to close Painswick Fire Station and remove all full-time cover from Cirencester Fire Station.

Your local Firefighters believe that these plans are dangerous. We believe they would severely compromise our ability to do our job safely and protect the public. We understand that times are difficult and money is tight, but we believe these cuts go too far and would risk the long term safety of the public. The cuts would lead to slower response times, with fire engines taking longer to reach you in times of need. They would lead to a significantly increased risk to both the public and firefighters alike.

Please add your name to our online petition and tell Gloucestershire County Council its time to rethink these cuts!

We have run newspaper ads in local papers, just like the one above. We are also running campaign days and getting out onto the streets to take our message to the public and ask for their support. We are handing out leaflets and asking people to sign our petition against the cuts. We are receiving a great response from the public, thanks for all your help so far! For details about when we are out next please look at our Facebook page.

We have been sending out updates on our campaign via a special bulletin which we have published online and also sent out to Fire Stations and Fire Service workplaces across the South West.

Please help us in our campaign. These cuts will not just affect people living in local communities, or even just people living in Gloucestershire - these cuts will affect every one of us who visits or travels through Gloucestershire as well. Please give us your support and sign our online petition. For more info see the leaflet below:
