All Members Circular - Ballot Papers and notifying Change of Addresses

25 July 2013
TO:  ALL MEMBERS

Dear Brother/Sister

BALLOT PAPERS AND NOTIFYING OF CHANGES TO ADDRESS

We have received a few calls into Head Office from members saying that they have not received a ballot paper, and it seems that the common cause is that Head Office has not been notified by a small number of members that they have changed address. We are anxious that every member should receive a ballot paper in order to participate in the decision-making process.

It may well be that there are a handful of members around the country who still have not received a ballot paper but who assume that the ballot paper is en route to their current address. To be clear, if any member has not yet received a ballot paper, it is almost certain that it has been sent to a previous address, as we have not been informed that the address has changed. Members who find themselves in the position of not having received a ballot paper should take the following actions:

Contact one of your Brigade officials or your Regional Office and provide all the following information:

•         make clear that you are calling because you have not received a ballot paper
•         your full name (including any previous names)
•         your previous address
•         your current address
•         your station (or other workplace)
•         if known, provide your membership number
•         a contact telephone number should we need to contact you on the matter

Please note that further information may be required for identification purposes

There is still plenty of time for you to correct the address we hold for you and for the Union to have a ballot paper dispatched to you.

Best wishes.

Yours fraternally

ANDY DARK
Assistant General Secretary
